Construction permits have been issued for a two-story retail building at 8125 S Halsted Street in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood. Previously, a two-story masonry structure occupied the lot, with demolition permits issued in October of 2019. The new building, developed under the name Carol J. Galuszka, will be occupied on both floors by a liquor store. The store’s name appears to be Spirit Beer & Wine, which was listed in the October demolition permit.

Tribune Tower Condominium Conversion’s Exterior Wraps Up

New zoning has been approved for a three-story residential development at 3409 N Bosworth Avenue in Lake View. The project site is located between W Roscoe Street and W Cornelia Avenue, and bounded by the CTA Brown Line tracks to the north. The nearest public transportation is a four-minute walk to the Paulina CTA L station, serviced by the Brown Line. The 9 CTA bus route, accessed at the Ashland and Roscoe stop, is within two-minute walk from the site. The property is being developed by Marduk Management, using two LLCs named 3407 N Bosworth LLC and 3409 N Bosworth LLC.

The brick structure currently houses multiple units and includes a detached garage, according the filing. Meanwhile, it is unclear what the owner, listed under FBF LLC, plans to do with the site. The area is currently zoned under RS-3, which allows for single family homes and two-flats.

It is bounded by N Austin Avenue to the east, by a public alley to the south and west, and by an adjacent property to the north. The nearest public transportation is the 78 and 91 CTA bus routes, accessed at the Austin and Montrose stop, within a two-minute walk from the site. 4416-20 North Austin LLC is in charge of the development.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a seven-story mixed-use development at 1623 N Halsted Street in Old Town. Located along N Halsted Street, between W Concord Place and W Willow Street, the site is an interior lot directly adjacent to the CTA Brown Line tracks. The North/Clybourn CTA L station, serviced by the Red Line, can be reached within a two-minute walk. The 8, 9, and 72 CTA bus routes can be accessed at the corner of W North Avenue and N Halsted Street, also within a two-minute walk from the site. JDL Development and Logan Ventures are in charge of the development.
