Onni Group has revealed their proposed Halsted Point development located at 901 N Halsted Street in Goose Island. Planned for the site of the current Greyhound Bus facility, the project site is located at the southern tip of Goose Island. The property is bound by N Halsted Street to the west, W Hooker Street to the north, and the Chicago River to the south and east.

Cladding is nearing completion for a five-story mixed-use building at 4806 N Magnolia Avenue in Uptown. Dubbed “The Balaban” after the owners behind the adjacent Uptown Theatre, the project is behind developed by JAB Real Estate and will replace a former parking lot. Programming will yield ground-level retail and 54 apartments on the four upper floors. Of the 54 units, 10 will be studios. Parking will offer 27 surface spaces located in the rear.

Construction permits have been issued for a two-story office building located at 8204 W Belmont Avenue in Dunning. Owned by 8200 Belmont LLC, the development will include office space on both floors, as well as five outdoor parking spaces. The new construction is set to occupy a currently vacant plot of land. Given that this plot is divided into two separate parcels, it is unclear if the building will replace the full plot or just a portion.

City Unveils Finalists for C40 Reinventing Cities Competition for Site in The Loop

The City of Chicago has unveiled the four finalist proposals for the C40 Reinventing Cities competition, planned for a city-owned site in The Loop. Located at 331 S Plymouth Court, the project site consists of a city-owned parking garage and a series of smaller parcels on the western edge of Pritzker Park. Bound by S Plymouth Court and W Van Buren Street, the rectangular parcel also has an alley running through that will be vacated.
