A construction permit has been issued for a new development at 1952 W 21st Street in Heart Of Chicago. The project plans detail a three-story apartment building with an added basement, set to house three individual dwelling units. The project is expected to replace a former three-story brick building.
Updated renderings and timelines have been revealed for the renovation and expansion of the Shedd Aquarium at 1200 S DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Museum Campus. Originally announced in the beginning of 2022 as part of the larger Centennial Commitment Program running through 2030, the updated timelines were released as work is set to begin soon. The aquarium itself is leading the efforts with the local office of Valerio Dewalt Train working on the design.
Plans for a three-story mixed-use development has been approved by City Council, targeting a currently vacant parcel at 115 S Francisco Avenue in East Garfield Park. Under development by Black Light Fellowship, the project is expected to yield 5,600 square feet of commercial space and eight for-rent apartment units.

The 19-story development at 1101 W Van Buren Street, named Coppia is nearing its full height in West Loop. Located between two pre-existing residential towers, Coppia fills a previously unoccupied space in the area. The mixed-use project by Pizzuti Development plans to offer 298 apartment units, ranging from studio designs to three-bedroom layouts, with penthouses occupying the top two levels. The podium will contain space for commercial use, along with an 82-car garage.
