Zoning has been approved for a mixed-use development at 2700 N Pine Grove Avenue in Lincoln Park. The project is located at the intersection of W Wrightwood Avenue and N Pine Grove Avenue. The site is currently home to the Second Church of Christ, Scientist Chicago, who is leading the redevelopment plan for the existing church building in collaboration with developer Ogden Partners.
Demolition permits have been issued for a three-story masonry building located at 9837 S Throop Street in Washington Heights. Owned by the Catholic Bishop of Chicago, the building is part of the St. Margaret of Scotland School and is located adjacently north of the main church building on campus. While multiple buildings on campus including the church are landmarked, the building slated for demolition is not and does not require any additional approval to be cleared.
Landmark Development has revealed updated plans for its proposed ONE Central mega-development located in the Near South Side. Poised to cover the existing Metra Weldon Yard, the site spans over 32 acres from E 14th Street to the north, Inner Lake Shore Drive to the east, McCormick Place to the south, and the CN rail tracks to the west.
Demolition is underway for two three-story masonry buildings located at 16-22 W Erie Street in River North. Both of the permits, which were issued in November of last year, were filed under the name KKDD LLC. An additional third building located at 14 W Erie Street is also slated for demolition, but the process is pending given its landmark status.
