The Lincoln Yards mega-development is set to enter its next phase as two of its riverfront parcels, D2 and D3, are scheduled to break ground next month. Following the completion of the life sciences ofice building at 1229 W Concord early this year, developer Sterling Bay has reevaluated the phasing plan for the Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture and Gensler-designed project, likely due to shifts in the economy. This adjustment prioritizes the development of mixed-use structures at the D2 and D3 parcels, located just north of 1229 W Concord.

CTA Announces New Batch Of Stations To Receive Refresh In 2023

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has announced a new batch of stations to receive minor renovation work across the city. As a part of the system’s ongoing Refresh & Renew initiative which started in 2019, the authority under current president Dorval R. Carter will embark on some much needed maintenance work across all lines except the Yellow or Skokie Swift portion. The program itself is part of the greater ‘Meeting the Moment’ Action Plan the system has enacted.

Completion Date Announced For Westhaven Park IID In Near West Side

A completion date has been announced for the upcoming mixed-use development at 1959 W Lake Street in the Near West Side. Located on the intersection with N Damen and directly across the street from the new Damen Green Line station, the project will be one of the final phases of the greater Westhaven Park development near the United Center. The team of Brinshore Development and The Michaels Organization is working with local architecture firm Landon Bone Baker (LBBA) on the design.
