A permit was approved late last week for the demolition of an existing two-story masonry building located at 3651 N Damen Avenue in North Center. The permit owner is listed under the name Northside Properties LLC. We previously reported on new construction at this site in October.
With construction now complete, the 11-story residential building known as Evo Union Park has officially opened at 1454 W Randolph Street in West Loop. Developer Marquette Companies has planned 242 total apartment units, whose layout sizes range from convertibles up through two-bedroom residences.
The University of Chicago has announced initial details for a new medical development at 5646 S Drexel Avenue on their Hyde Park campus. The new building would be located on the northwest corner with E 57th Street and will be replacing a surface parking lot in the heart of the university’s medical district. The project’s developer University of Chicago Medicine will be taking their first round of information to the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board seeking the necessary approval to begin design development for the property.
A permit was issued yesterday for a new five-story mixed-use masonry building located at 4010 N Lincoln Avenue in the North Center neighborhood. The owner is listed as Sewickley, LLC. The new construction is slated to feature 24 residential units and one commercial space. There will be an attached 10-vehicle garage on the ground floor and a rooftop deck. The building will replace a vacant lot.
With its structural work now above ground level, the planned 27-story development at 160 N Elizabeth Street has received its full construction permit in West Loop. Prior to construction, this parcel along the Randolph Street corridor was previously occupied by a collection of low-rise masonry buildings. This 293-foot-tall replacement will have a dramatic presence as one of the largest new developments contributing to West Loop’s rapid urbanization.
