Updated renderings have been revealed for the residential building at 6044 N Winthrop Avenue in Edgewater. Located just south of the intersection with W Glenlake Avenue, the project will replace a surface parking lot just east of the CTA tracks that run over its rear alley. Developer North Park Ventures is behind the upcoming building designed by local firm Kennedy Mann.
Construction permits have been issued for the renovation and alteration of a three-story residential building located at 6727 S East End Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood. Owned by South Shore IL Preservation LP, the existing building currently houses 25 residential units. The renovation will involve a level one alteration with no structural changes to the building.
A new Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotel and Conference Center is set to open in downtown Skokie, after Chicago-based E&M Strategic Development completed construction and topped out the project. The hotel, which is expected to be a major draw for business and leisure travelers, will have 143 rooms, as well as 10,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, 5,000 square feet of outdoor meeting space, a rooftop bar, and 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
A new zoning application has been submitted for the mixed-use development at 330 N Clark Street in River North. Located almost on Chicago river, the new building would rise in the small parking lot at the northeast corner of the existing Reid Murdoch Center. Although it was originally proposed in 2016, the project has received a handful of changes over the years as it has worked towards getting off of the ground. Now developer Friedman Properties is proposing another change to the HKS Architects-designed structure.
The Committee on Design is currently in the process of reviewing a new mixed-use development at 1300 W Lake Street, situated at the intersection of W Lake Street and N Elizabeth Street in Fulton Market. The proposed 46-story tower will be designed by bKL Architecture, and rise to a height of 530 feet.
