Updated details have been revealed for a potential mixed-use skyscraper at 301 South Wacker Drive in The Loop. The new structure would rise on the corner of West Jackson Boulevard directly across the street from the Willis Tower, replacing the north garden of 311 Wacker. The project is being led by Texas-based developer Hines.
A vacant lot along the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chatham has a permit to erect a three-story, three-unit residential building. The permission was granted on August 28 for 8028 South Lafayette Avenue, a mid-block parcel between 80th and 81st Street. It was filed in May of this year, and was approved with a reported cost of $550,000.
Initial renderings have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 1704 North Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park. Located at the corner of West Wabansia Avenue on the northern edge of the neighborhood, the project was announced via a newsletter from the Wicker Park Committee earlier this week. The developer and designer are currently unknown.
The residential development known as The Base is now open at 2763 North Seminary Avenue in Lincoln Park. The five-story, 24-unit rental community replaced the former United Christian Church, which was demolished last fall. Studio Dwell Architects created the design for the building, which is built by Contemporary Concepts as both the developer and general contractor.
A new construction permit issued by the City of Chicago on August 28 will add a residential building on a Washington Park block currently improved with only one property. At 5827 South Prairie Avenue, Garfield Ridge Investments LLC has permission to erect the three-flat they applied to build on April 16. The permit cites a reported cost of $500,000.
