Preservation Chicago Announces Most Endangered Buildings Of The Year

Preservation Chicago has released its yearly list of the most endangered buildings in Chicago for 2022 spanning multiple neighborhoods. In its 20th year, the list outlines eight buildings at risk for demolition in the city that contribute towards the architectural legacy seven of the city announced by the director of Preservation Chicago Ward Miller.

New Permits Issued for 815 N Hoyne Avenue in West Town

Permits were issued yesterday for a new three-story residential building at 815 N Hoyne Avenue in West Town. The lot is currently occupied by a two-story masonry residence which was issued a demolition permit on February 10th. The owner is listed as 815 Hoyne Company, and plans indicate that the scope of the project will include two dwelling units, a rear deck with stairs across floors, a basement level, a rooftop deck and trellis, and a detached two-vehicle garage with its own rooftop deck.

Designers Selected For DuSable Park In Streeterville

The Chicago Park District has selected the design firms to proceed with the design of the long-stalled DuSable Park at 401 N DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Streeterville. Located just east of the drive adjacent to the site that was to house the Chicago Spire, the project is moving forward with the Park District selecting a joint venture between Ross Barney Architects and Brook Architecture to work on the design of the 3.5-acre park.
