A construction permit has been issued for a new residential project at 513 N Hartland Court in West Town. Owned by Sean Walsh, the approved plans detail a three-story single-family residence with a basement.
Facade work for the five-story Rush Specialty Hospital at 516 S Loomis Street in the Little Italy neighborhood is nearing completion. This new facility represents a partnership between the Rush University System and Select Medical. Located on the same block as the Joan and Paul Rubschlager building that opened earlier this year, the hospital is complemented by an adjacent third plot, which offers potential for a building spanning up to 855,000 square feet.
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and the Metropolitan Planning Organization Committee have approved new funding for Metra. The approval will allow for Metra to receive a $169.3 million grant from the federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement grant. The money will go towards new electric train sets to be used on multiple lines in order to better and increase service, though no delivery date was announced.
The City of Chicago has issued a construction permit for a new mixed-use building located at 3122 S Morgan Street in Bridgeport. The permit, granted to owner Martin Zhao, authorizes the establishment of a three-story masonry structure, which will house one commercial unit and two residential units, in addition to a trash enclosure.
Construction on the six-story mixed-use building at 1002 S Racine Avenue in Little Italy has reached the third floor. This new construction is a collaboration between Related Midwest and the Chicago Housing Authority, part of the Roosevelt Square Phase 3B plan. This phase encompasses three mixed-income apartment buildings and the new National Museum of Public Housing.
