Plans Revealed For New Community Manufacturing HQ In Chicago Lawn

Apparel manufacturer Blue Tin Production and architects Studio Gang have revealed plans for a community-centered manufacturing facility at 3081 W 63rd Street in Chicago Lawn. The new headquarters for the growing company will utilize a recently purchased existing factory building built in 1920 on the corner of W 63rd Street and S Albany Avenue. The two-story brick clad building most recently held a small food mart that closed in 2020 and will undergo an interior reconstruction prior to opening.

Phase Two for Mural Park Adaptive Reuse Project Completes in Pilsen

Final touches are drawing closer toward completion for the second phase of an adaptive reuse project known as Mural Park. The developers Condor Partners, Transwestern, and Chicago Development Partners are converting two four-story masonry warehouses to commercial and office space, while adding a new park space in between. The second phase of this project is the southern of the two buildings, located at 920 W Cullerton Street. Last year, it was announced that the parent company of Blue Cross Blue Shield would lease the entirety of this second building.

Permit Issued for 1765 W Rosehill Drive in Edgewater

A permit was issued this week for a four-story residential building, located at 1765 W Rosehill Drive in Edgewater. The developer, Candea Development, has planned 13 total units, an elevator, a basement level, a bike room, and an attached garage with 13 total parking spaces. This garage wing will also be topped by a rooftop terrace. The new construction will be replacing a previously vacant lot.

City Awards Construction Contract For New Green Line Station in Near West Side

The City of Chicago has awarded the construction contract for the new CTA Green Line Damen station at 2001 W Lake Street in the Near West Side. The stop has been long discussed for the growing west side area, and to serve major events at the nearby United Center which will allow for less vehicle bottlenecks on the surrounding city streets. The contract has been awarded to local construction company F.H. Paschen who has extensive experience with projects across Chicago airports, parks, schools, and transportation.
