Last month, a new four-story commercial building opened at 1111 W Addison Street, directly across the Addison & Clark intersection from Wrigley Field. Planned by West Addison Development, the roughly 60,000 square feet of programming includes just under 16,000 square feet of ground-level retail and a climbing/fitness gym on the upper floors. First Section Of Wild Mile Floating Park Opens In Goose Island

The first phase of the ambitious Wild Mile floating park has been completed behind the REI store at 905 W Eastman Street near Goose Island. The project has been a work in progress since 2003 with hopes to grow a total of 17 acres of floating amenities and nature sites. Started and led by the nonprofit group Urban Rivers, the master plan for the eco-park comes from the local office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill who began working with the group in 2016.

A permit was issued this week for a new four-story mixed-use building, located at 5691 N Ridge Avenue in Edgewater. The developer, 5691 Ridge Development LLC, has planned a ground-floor retail space and a total of nine dwelling units, with an elevator penthouse. There will also be a rooftop stairway enclosure, a bike room, and nine parking stalls. The new construction will be replacing a previous structure.

Developer Finishes Work On Office Development At 1334 N Kostner Avenue In Humboldt Park

Final touches begin to take shape on the first phase of a new office development at 1334 N Kostner Avenue in Humboldt Park. Dubbed The Terminal, the project is the redevelopment of the old Pyle National Company manufacturing plant which had sat mostly dormant for many years, and is now being developed by the IBT Group along with Chicago businessman Joe Mansueto. The design is being led by local firm RATIO Design along with one of the nation’s leading preservation specialists MacRostie Historic Advisors.
