A new construction permit has been issued for a vacant lot at 2863 West 21st Street in Little Village. The permit allows a three-story, nine-unit residential building on a corner lot formed by the north-south alley perpendicular to 21st Street. The application was filed on February 14 of this year, and it came through on November 13 with a reported cost of $1.1 million.
Construction has begun on a new commercial plaza at 2812–2850 West 26th Street in Little Village. Located at the intersection with South Francisco Avenue and across the street from the Cook County Department of Corrections, the project will replace a vacant lot and a surface parking area.
Details have been revealed for a new community center at 2653 S Kildare Avenue in Little Village. Sitting on the northeast corner with W 27th Avenue, the proposal will eventually be replacing a large vacant lot in the west end of the neighborhood. The project is being led by local nonprofit Erie Neighborhood House.
Construction is set to begin on a three-story, three-unit residence at 2307 South Marshall Boulevard in the Little Village neighborhood. A construction permit with an application date of December 16 was issued on May 20th, showing a reported construction cost of $400,000. DeVago Ventures Inc is named as the property owner and recipient of the permit.
Initial site work is set to commence in the coming months for a new mixed-use hospital complex at 3201 W 31st Street in Little Village. Dubbed ‘Focal Point Community Campus’, the project will serve as the new home for St. Anthony hospital as its current location continues to age. Efforts are being led by the hospital and Chicago Southwest Development Corp.
