Mixed-Use Project Approved At 3714 N Cicero Avenue In Old Irving Park

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a mixed-use building at 3714 N Cicero Avenue in Old Irving Park. Located just north of the intersection with W Waveland Avenue, the new structure replaces a one-story commercial building built in 1956 that most recently housed a motorcycle shop. Developer G7 Investments LLC selected local architecture firm Studio Sym Design for the small neighborhood project.

354 N Union Avenue Gets Glassy in Fulton River District

Glass panel installation has begun for the facade that will eventually cloak 354 N Union Avenue, a 33-story residential high rise in the Fulton River District. Onni Development Group is behind the 410-foot-tall tower, which will house a total of 373 apartment dwellings. These units will vary widely in size, beginning at 400-square-foot studios and span up to 1,600 square feet for three-bedroom penthouses. Amenities will include a sprawling third-level pool deck and a host of interior common areas.

Funding Secured For First Major Lakefront Study Since 1996

New funding has been secured for the protection and restoration of Chicago’s shoreline from Wilmette to East Side on the Indiana border. The funding comes from the $1.3 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act passed last November of which Illinois will receive $17 billion to improve highways, bridges, and water infrastructure among others. The first phase of spending in Chicago will go to a major study of the lakefront and execution of outstanding projects.
