A new residential development at 1021 W Polk Street in Little Italy has reached its full three-story height. The construction process began last year after the pre-existing two-story brick building on the lot was demolished.
A demolition permit was issued earlier this week for a two-story multi-unit building located at 2713 S Union Avenue in the Bridgeport neighborhood. The owners have been listed as Nicholas and Samantha Chin. At the time of this writing, no plans have been submitted to upgrade any of the zoning designations for this property and there are no pending permits for any future constructions.
On Monday, the Mayor’s office announced new proposals for renovations of Soldier Field. These proposals come as a result of the findings and recommendations of the Mayor’s Museum Campus Working Group. A foundation permit has been issued for the planned 150 E Ontario Street, kicking off the first high rise to be built in Streeterville in several years. Filling in a long-vacant patch of land within an otherwise dense downtown segment, the new construction will be a 28-story hotel for the Spanish hotel chain RIU Hotels and Resorts. The Prime Group is the developer for this proposal, having also contributed $2.9 million to the Neighborhood Opportunity Fund alongside the project.
Permits have been issued to remove an existing three-story multi-unit residential building at 1500 N Wieland Street in Old Town. NER Holdings is listed as the permit owner. New construction permits have been issued and plans have been revealed for a four-story, seven-unit elevator building at the site. The upcoming build will include a three-car garage and a five-foot-tall masonry screen wall. The building will have a brick composition.
