Plans are finally progressing for the commercial redevelopment of the former Grace’s Furniture building at 2618 North Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square. The project has been in the works for over six years, with our last update coming back in 2022 as the developers pivoted from a hotel to a large-format gym before going dormant.
A demolition permit that had been pending since the end of March has come through for 2415 West Cortland Street in Logan Square, clearing the site for redevelopment. TBBM Management LLC of South Beloit is the recipient of the permit, which was issued on May 20. Forge Excavation & Demolition of Bannockburn is named as the demo contractor at a reported cost of $18,000.
The full construction permit for the residential building at 2240 North Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square was issued by the city on May 13. As was the caisson permit that came through in April, it is assigned to the address of 2705 West Prindiville Street. It waited in the data portal for 104 days from its application start date of January 29, and it includes a reported cost of $11.5 million. Kiferbaum Development Group is the developer and the general contractor on the build.
Details have been revealed for an upcoming mixed-use development at 3265 West Armitage Avenue in Logan Square. Located mid-block between North Sawyer Avenue and North Spaulding Avenue, the project has been in the works since last fall, according to the local alderwoman’s website. The development is set to replace a large parking lot and an adjacent building.
The full permit has been issued to begin and to complete construction of the planned residential development at 1805 North Campbell Avenue in Logan Square. VAM Development is the recipient of the permit as both the developer and general contractor. The application start date is shown as February 23, with the permit coming through 43 days later, on April 7, with a reported cost of $4,667,700.
