Permits have now been secured for all four single-family residences to be built on the site of the vacant church and school on North Richmond Street in Logan Square. Both of those structures are now being demolished ahead of the lot’s redevelopment.
Even as some Chicagoans are still coming to grips with the demolition of a vintage church in Ravenswood, another has been slated for demolition and redevelopment. In the Logan Square neighborhood, two demolition permits were issued on October 28 to raze the closed church at 2028 North Richmond Street and its adjoining school building at 2018 North Richmond.
A four-story, nine-unit residential building from Panoptic Group has topped out at 2072 North Western Avenue in Logan Square. The construction site on the southwest corner of Western and West Charleston Street was formerly home to the original Redhot Ranch eatery, permitted for demolition on June 30 of this year.
Work is approved to begin on a four-unit residential building at 1821 North Kimball Avenue in Logan Square. The entity of Kimball 1821 N LLC is the property owner. Panoptic Group is named as the general contractor, working with designs by Hanna Architects.
A two-unit residential building permitted for construction in May now has permission to add a coach house ADU to the parcel. At 1838 North Rockwell Street in Logan Square, developer Felix Widjaja is erecting a two-story with basement, two-unit property.
