The second phase of the Wild Mile has been completed and opened at 905 W Eastman Street within the Near North Side. While it may have a land address, the public park which first opened in 2021 is completely floating along the banks of the north branch canal of the Chicago River behind the flagship REI store. Now non-profit Urban Rivers is celebrating its first expansion.
Details revealed for the residential conversion of the loft building at 811 W Evergreen Avenue within the Near North Side. Located just west of the intersection with N Halsted Street, the timber structure has long been an office building which has been repositioned multiple times in the past. Now developer Honore Properties is leading the charge for the conversion.
Construction of the 132-unit residential development at 1549 North Fremont Street on the Near North Side is underway. When we posted about the foundation permit being issued back in August, the developers from CityPads let us know with a comment that construction would begin after Labor Day. And true to form, foundation work has started. Since that time, the full building permit (assigned to 1529 North Fremont Street) has also been issued.
The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use development at 1565 N Clybourn Avenue in the Near North Side. Sitting on the corner with N Halsted Street in the quickly changing area, the project will replace an existing two-story bank within a larger complex owned by developer The Georgetown Company.
Financing has been secured and a groundbreaking date announced for the upcoming mixed use development at 1549 N Fremont Street in the Near North Side. We recently covered the project’s approval process that culminated in construction permits being issued earlier this month. With those in hand, we now also have an official groundbreaking timeline as well.
