CityPads and development partner Wayland Real Estate Capital got their first construction permit on August 5 of last year, when the City of Chicago permitted foundation work, assigned to the address of 1529 North Fremont, to begin. That was followed soon thereafter by the full building permit on August 16; ground was broken and work got started shortly after Labor Day.

The development is cradled by the Toyota of Lincoln Park facility on its north and east elevations. It fronts Fremont Street, where the retail spaces and garage entrance/exit will be. Designed by NORR Architects, studio units will be featured; there are 112 of them. The ground floor will have 8,000 square feet of retail/commercial space, and 29 parking spaces. Atop the garage, toward the back of the building, will be an outdoor terrace shared by all tenants.
