Demolition work is nearing completion ahead of the new Tiny Giants Early Learning Center at 2801 West Montrose Avenue in Horner Park. Located on the southwest corner of Montrose and California Avenues, the mixed-use childhood education and residential development is replacing three commercial buildings that were permitted for teardown in August and October last year.

Construction Progress Rises Above Street Level At 1549 North Fremont on the Near North Side

Construction progress has risen above street level for a big residential development at 1549 North Fremont Street on the northern edges of the River North neighborhood on the Near North Side. The five-story, 132-unit apartment project from CityPads broke ground just after Labor Day. Concrete blocks and steel beams are now going vertical, thanks to the crew from general contractor ENC Construction & Development.

Trio of demolition permits signals the beginning of Tiny Giants development in Irving Park

Three demolition permits have been issued for properties on the southwest corner of Montrose Avenue and California Avenue in Irving Park. The removal of those buildings will clear space for developers Farah and Amir Essa to build their next Tiny Giants Early Learning Center facility and mixed-use residential development, designed by SEEK Design + Architecture. The new project will include school offices on the second floor, and 24 residential units on levels three and four. The learning center will occupy the ground floor.

Construction is underway at 1549 North Fremont Street on the Near North Side

Construction of the 132-unit residential development at 1549 North Fremont Street on the Near North Side is underway. When we posted about the foundation permit being issued back in August, the developers from CityPads let us know with a comment that construction would begin after Labor Day. And true to form, foundation work has started. Since that time, the full building permit (assigned to 1529 North Fremont Street) has also been issued.
