The Loop‘s newest skyscraper, 300 N Michigan Avenue, is now complete. The 47-story mixed-use tower developed by Sterling Bay and Magellan Development Group features a retail base, a 280-key citizenM hotel on the lower levels, and 289 rental apartment units dubbed “Millie on Michigan.”
Permits were issued on this past week for a new three-story residential building located at 2214 N Hamilton Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood. The project will replace an existing structure addressed at 2216 N Hamilton Avenue. The permit owner is listed as Volo Holdings, and plans indicate that the development will include a total of three units, each equipped with outdoor space at the rear. There will be a rooftop deck with an enclosed staircase and a detached three-vehicle garage with its own rooftop deck.
A demolition permit was issued last week for the removal of a two-story multi-unit masonry residence along with a detached masonry garage located at 1231 W Cornelia Avenue in the Lake View neighborhood. The permit’s owner has been listed as Kyle Gillespie.
The ever-growing Fulton Market district is now seeing another new addition, as construction has begun for a 19-story mixed-use building at 210 N Aberdeen Street. The 214-foot-tall structure, planned by LG Development Group, will sit on an L-shaped site and include 10,700 square feet of retail space and 363 apartment units. The scope and design have changed slightly prior to construction, having reduced the total units from 414 and the height from 239 feet.
Full permits have been issued for the project located at 1800 W Berenice Avenue in North Center. As previously reported, the development is led by Landrosh Development and is located at the intersection of N Ravenswood and W Berenice Avenues. The property was approved in March 2021 for a zoning conversion from B2-1.5 to B2-3 and was issued foundation permits in mid-July.
