LG Development’s “HUGO” Gets Ready to Rise in River North

Foundation work is progressing on HUGO, LG Development‘s two-building development located at 751 N Hudson Avenue and 411 W Chicago Avenue in River North. The two nine-story buildings will be nearly adjacent to one another, separated by an existing low-rise masonry building. Combined, the mixed-use edifices will span 230,000 square feet, occupied by 19,000 square feet of mercantile space and 227 apartments.

City Council Approves Residential Development 526-530 W 41st Street In Canaryville

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a residential development at 526-530 W 41st Street in Canaryville. Located just east of the intersection with S Wallace Street, the three homes will replace a vacant lot, a one-story non-historical home and its adjacent garage. Developer Thomas M Doyle Builders LLC is working with local designer Stern Group Architects on the low-cost builds.

New Permits Issued for 519 E Bowen Avenue in Grand Boulevard

A permit was approved just yesterday for a new three-story residential building at 519 E Bowen Avenue in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. Metropole Holdings LLC is listed as the owner and plans indicate this project will yield three total units, each with rear steel porches and an egress staircase, as well as a concrete patio and a private three-car masonry garage. The development will replace a vacant lot.

Plan Commission Approves SRO Project at 3150 N Racine Avenue in Lakeview

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved plans for a residential expansion of the existing Belray Apartments building at 3150 N Racine Avenue in Lakeview. The property and its parking lot are located right off of W Belmont Avenue and are operated by Mercy Housing, who is also developing the new expansion with architect Landon Bone Baker. Since we last covered the project in January, there have been a handful of changes including a decrease in total units.
