The Chicago City Council approved the rezoning for a new residential development at 1545 W Thomas Street in Noble Square. Located just south from the Polish Triangle intersection of N Ashland Avenue, W Division Street, and N Milwaukee Avenue, The new multi-unit building will replace an existing two-story home on the site. Developer EZMB LLC is leading the project with design firm Hanna Architects.

A permit was approved yesterday for a new three-story residential building at 2740 W Jackson Boulevard in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. The owner is listed as Happy River LLC, and the current plans indicate this project will yield three total dwelling units and will have a finished basement. The property will be fenced, with an iron fence at the front of the building and a wooden fence in the rear. The project will also feature a three-car parking pad at the rear. The lot is currently vacant.

New Details Revealed For Englewood Connect Development

Updated plans have been revealed for the Englewood Connect Invest South/West development in Englewood. The winning project for the RFP was selected earlier this year and is now back with updated phasing plans and further details on each part of the design. Sitting north of the existing Whole Foods near the intersection of S Peoria Drive and S Halsted Street, developers McLaurin Development and Farpoint Development tapped Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and TNS Studio to design the large complex.

Presidential Towers Go Grayscale at 555 W Madison Street in West Loop Gate

One of Chicago’s more common high-rise colors is the omnipresent beige that can be seen in large herds clustered in areas like River North and West Loop Gate. We recently looked at 600 N Dearborn in River North, where The Farallon’s owners have been repainting its exterior walls from a tan-like tone to a cooler dark gray. As seen in recent photos, the Presidential Towers at 555 W Madison Street in West Loop Gate have been receiving a similar treatment. All four of the 49-story, 461-foot-tall towers are transitioning to a medium-gray paint job along most of the exterior walls, as well as a secondary dark-gray at the base and top.
