The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 170 N May Street and 175 N Racine Avenue in Fulton Market. Bound by W Lake Street to the north, the multi-phase project will replace a now vacant lot that previously held a commercial structure. Efforts for the project are being led by Chicago-based LG Development.
Facilities for a new Lubavitch Girls High School are under construction at Devon Avenue and North Whipple Street in West Ridge. Students had been attending classes in schoolrooms attached to the Congregation Bnei Ruven at 6350 North Whipple; the new two-story masonry building will update and modernize the educational experience.
The updated plans for the mixed-use development at 170 N May Street and 175 N Racine Avenue, as well as a revision for the lot at 210 N Racine Avenue, will head to this month’s Plan Commission meeting. Located along the intersection with W Lake Street within the Fulton Market District, the multi-phase project was initially revealed over four years ago with a different design.
LG Development is expanding its vision with a new proposal for two apartment towers in the Fulton Market District. The firm plans to construct a 25-story building with 287 units at 170 N May Street and a 38-story tower with 380 units at 175 N Racine Avenue. This revised proposal is an increase from their previously approved plan for a 29-story high-rise with 486 units as reported by therealdeal.com.
The facade of the 19-story mixed-use development at 210 N Aberdeen Street in Fulton Market is nearing completion. Spearheaded by LG Development Group, the “Arthur on Aberdeen” spans 420,000 square feet and occupies an L-shaped footprint, bordered by Aberdeen Street to the east and May Street to the west. The building will feature 363 residential units, with an additional 10,000 square feet allocated for retail.
