An opening has been held for the new home of The American Blues Theater at 5627 N Lincoln Avenue in West Ridge. Sitting just north of the intersection with W Bryn Mawr Avenue near Rosehill Cemetery, the theater repurposed a vacant one-story commercial building. The project was led by the theater company itself with Morris Architects Planners acting as the architects while Schuler Shook supplied the theater systems.
Multiple construction permits have been issued for an expansion of an existing intermediate care facility known as Misericordia Home in West Ridge. The expansion project, which has been dubbed “Sister Rosemary Park,” will serve those with developmental disabilities, comprising of 16 detached homes, each two stories in height.

Morris Architects Planners are leading the structure’s re-design with Schuler Shook supplying the theater systems.
Details have been revealed for a new school and dormitory at 6801 N California Avenue in West Ridge on the Far North Side. Located on the corner with W Pratt Boulevard not too far from the famed W Devon Avenue strip, the new school is being built by the Lubavitch Mesivta of Chicago and replacing an existing one-story strip mall recently purchased to be torn down. The Mesivta, or secondary school, is working with a local architect to construct the Yeshiva building, or school building.
Demolition permits were issued this week for a two-story masonry residence located at 6334 North Whipple Street in the West Ridge neighborhood. The owner of the permit is listed as Congregation B’nei Ruven. The residence is being moved as part of a larger plan to renovate and expand the neighboring school.
