Funding Approved For American Blues Theater In West Ridge

Funding has been announced for the new home of The American Blues Theater at 5627 N Lincoln Avenue in West Ridge. Located just north of the intersection with W Bryn Mawr Avenue and near Rosehill Cemetery, the theater will be redeveloping a one-story commercial building built in 1985 that previously housed a Dollar General. Morris Architects Planners are leading the structure’s re-design with Schuler Shook supplying the theater systems.

New School Proposed At 6801 N California Avenue In West Ridge

Details have been revealed for a new school and dormitory at 6801 N California Avenue in West Ridge on the Far North Side. Located on the corner with W Pratt Boulevard not too far from the famed W Devon Avenue strip, the new school is being built by the Lubavitch Mesivta of Chicago and replacing an existing one-story strip mall recently purchased to be torn down. The Mesivta, or secondary school, is working with a local architect to construct the Yeshiva building, or school building.

New Permits Issued for 5689 N Lincoln Avenue in West Ridge

A permit was approved on Friday for a new four-story residential building to be located at 5689 N Lincoln Avenue in the West Ridge neighborhood. The permit indicates that this will be owner-occupied with owners listed as Lekhayim Venture LLC. Plans indicate that the project will yield six total units and include two three-car masonry garages as well as trash enclosures. The development will replace a paved lot.
