Two demolition permits were filed last week for neighboring two-story frame residences along with detached frame garages located at 4306 and 4308 N Greenview Avenue in Lake View. The permit’s owner is listed as Charles Murphy for both demolitions. The properties were recently put up for sale as a combined lot. The listing is currently active with an asking price of $1.45 million.
This past week, plans were disclosed for a new eight-story mixed-use building proposed for 629 W Lake Street in West Loop Gate. The project will be located at the corner of Lake & Desplaines, and will replace the Fast Track restaurant that currently occupies the site. Based on information provided by the office of Alderman Reilly, the developer behind the proposal has not yet been mentioned.
The Chicago City Council has approved a new mixed-use development at 1245 W Fulton Market Street in the West Loop. Located near the intersection with N Elizabeth Street, the project comes to us from developer Sterling Bay with the design being led by West Loop local firm Harthshorne Plunkard Architecture. The approval green-lights the building to rise in the fast-growing neighborhood where some have called for a slowdown on new developments.
Updated renderings have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 630 S Wabash Avenue in the South Loop. The project which was revealed late 2021 is located just south of the intersection with E Harrison Street replacing a vacant lot with a new high-rise. Leading the concept are developing partners Melrose Ascension Capital and DAC Developments who are working with local architecture firm Antunovich Associates on the tower’s design.
