The Community Development Commission has approved the proposed Friend Health Medical Campus project. Located at 6250 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Woodlawn, the project will span two adjacent sites, located at the intersection of E 63rd Street and S Cottage Grove Avenue. The Cottage Grove CTA L station, serviced by the Green Line, is accessed directly adjacent to the site. The 4 and 63 CTA bus routes also stop at the intersection of E 63rd Street and S Cottage Grove Avenue, giving direct access to the site. Friend Health Center and DL3 Realty are collaborating on the development.
Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 6204 S Kimbark Avenue in Woodlawn. Developed by McInerney Builders, the project will replace an empty lot and provide six dwellings as well as a basement and outdoor parking for six vehicles. The development is estimated at $181,732 in value according to a Redfin listing for the property.
Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 6406 S Drexel Avenue in Woodlawn, several houses over from another development with the same developer, GA Roslyn LLC. While there are houses dividing the two sites, it is not clear if the developer plans to merge them into a single project or keep the sites separate but with similar designs.
