The only details mentioned in the permit are a rear porch and three parking spaces on a concrete pad. The new homes will be built on the east end of a large, long-vacant lot, but there are no other pending permits for the rest of the site in the Chicago Data Portal. Next door at 1426 Marquette, a vintage three-flat is being renovated after a permit was issued for it in June 2023.
1422 East Marquette lies two blocks west of Jackson Park, and is within comfortable walking distance of the Obama Presidential Center. Four blocks north of the new homes, a 26-story hotel has just been proposed for the southwest corner of 64th Street and Stony Island Avenue, according to Crain’s Chicago Business.
