Steel Nears Full Height for 801 W Belmont in Lakeview East

Steel beams are approaching what will eventually be the roofline for a new two-story commercial building at 801 W Belmont Avenue in Lakeview East. Developed by Hubbard Street Group, the project will be replacing a former brick edifice originally designed by Ivar Viehe-Naess and completed in 1921.The replacing project will house 59,000 square feet of commercial or retail usage and will come with 300 feet of new store frontage.

New Permits Issued for 2418 N Linden Place in Logan Square

A conditional permit was issued earlier this week for a new three-story residential building at 2418 N Linden Place in the Logan Square neighborhood. The owner is listed as Jason E. Krynski and the permit lists Christopher Bremer as the architect of record for the build. Though renderings have not been made public we do know that this build will contain six units, a roof deck, and rear porches on all floors. Plans also show the presence of an accompanying six-vehicle garage.

225 N Elizabeth Street Receives Full Construction Permits In Fulton Market

Full construction permits have been granted for the mixed-use development at 225 N Elizabeth Street in the Fulton Market District. Located on the corner with W Fulton Street, the project took the 11th place in our 2022 year-end countdown and has started construction with foundation work well underway. Now construction has been cleared to fully rise over its low-height industrial neighbors. Developer Sterling Bay, who is also busy building up Lincoln Yards, and Colorado-based Ascentris are working with local architecture firm Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture on its design.

Permits Issued for 868 N Wells Street in Near North Side

Further construction permits have been issued for the upcoming development located at 868 N Wells Street in the Near North Side. This is part of developer JDL mega-development which has been dubbed North Union. As previously reported, the $1.3 billion masterplan will house roughly 2.9 million square feet of space, 2,656 residences, new commercial units, and 100,000 square feet of public areas.
