Due to high application numbers, Aurora’s new affordable housing development, 1449 Senior Estates, closed applications. Despite initially planning a 30-day application period, the city received an overwhelming response, forcing them to close applications after just three days as reported by ABC Chicago.

The development consists of 70 single-family homes and duplexes with attached garages. City officials aim to select 10 to 15 tenants per month, with priority given to Aurora residents, construction is expected to be completed by fall. City officials reported receiving more than three times the amount of applications expected over the entire 30-day period.

  1. Little do they know, this is what peak urbanization would look like in Arlington if the Bears were to move out of the city.

    That master plan? Have you seen 45’s response to suburban development? The man was throwing another one of his infamous temper tantrums and declaring there’s a war on single-family housing.

    With such insane demand for affordable housing on all fronts, especially senior housing, good thing denser projects are overwhelmingly supported by the older folks, always… Right? RIGHT?!
