A renovation is underway at 1419 North Artesian Avenue, a residential building in Humboldt Park. The project, which has a budget of $300,000, will focus on both interior and exterior alterations to the property, including a new one-story frame addition to enhance the existing two dwelling units.
Architect Oladipo Animashaun is spearheading the design of the renovations. Work will include mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems upgrades, along with the installation of new equipment and fixtures. Notably, the existing porch enclosure will be replaced with an open wood deck. In addition, the project will result in the construction of a new steel deck at the front of the building and a concrete ramp with basement access.
BB&B Development LLC, serving as the general contractor, will oversee the construction process. Batiste Masonry from Dolton, IL, will handle masonry work. 1419 North Artesian Avenue is located steps from bus service for Route 49. Beyond that, the Damen CTA Station, which services the Blue Line, is a short walk to the north-east of the property.
