The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the new Chicago Transit Authority consolidated control center at 335 N Pulaski Road in West Garfield Park. Located just north of the intersection with W Lake Street, the new structure will replace a large vacant lot and storage yard. Efforts for the project are being led by the Farpoint Development and the CTA, with Lamar Johnson Collaborative leading the design.
The City of Chicago issued a demolition permit for 2841 N Southport Avenue in the Lake View neighborhood on Monday, June 17. Construction fencing already surrounds the four-story frame residential structure, as well as the garage at the rear of the property, which will also be removed. Tir Conaill Concrete is listed as the demo contractor.
A permit has been issued for a renovation and alteration project at 6517 South Peoria Street in Englewood. The permit was issued on June 17 after a standard plan review process that took 87 days.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the multi-phase Halsted Landing development at 700 W Chicago Avenue in River West. Sitting on the intersection with N Halsted Street on the banks of the Chicago River, the project is the eventual continuation of Halsted Point across the water. Both of these are being led by Canadian developer Onni Group who has been bullish on Chicago in recent years.
The Residences of St. Boniface, Phase 2 of the St. Boniface Church redevelopment project, has reached the second level in Noble Square, West Town. Located at 1340 W Chestnut Street and immediately east of St. Boniface Church, the new four-story elevator building was issued a New Construction permit for 20 condo units and a 25-space garage on October 23, 2023. A basement is also part of the plan, under a foundation permit issued August 25 of last year.
