The redeveloped Morton Salt warehouse complex has opened to the public along the Chicago River’s North Branch corridor. The new office and entertainment complex within the shell of the former factory in West Town is a project by a development partnership between R2 Companies, Blue Star Properties, and Skydeck.
The Permit Review Committee from the Commission on Chicago Landmarks has approved plans for the temporary casino at Medinah Temple planned by Bally’s Corporation. As part of their winning casino bid, Bally’s will operate a temporary casino at Medinah Temple until the full-fledged casino is completed at the site of the current Tribune Freedom Center printing plant.
Permits were issued on Monday for the construction of a new four-story residential building located at 2700 W Montrose Avenue in Albany Park. The owner is listed as Carheen Construction and plans indicate that there will be a total of six dwelling units. Michael S Cox is listed as the architect of record. This will be a masonry building with a detached three-vehicle garage with a rooftop deck. No drawings or renderings have been made public.
Under the new name “Cadence,” metal paneling is now being installed for the 11-story apartment building at 2050 W Ogden Avenue in the Illinois Medical District. The mixed-use development will include nearly 10,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, as well as 161 apartments on the upper floors. The residences will range from studios up to two-bedroom apartments.
Renderings have been released for the upcoming residential development at 1323 S Wood Street in the Illinois Medical District. Melrose Ascension Capital is heading the development which has been dubbed The Nightingale at IMD.
