The Chicago Committee on Design has reviewed plans for a residential development at 1234 W Randolph Street in Fulton Market. Located just east of the intersection with N Elizabeth Street, it will replace two small commercial structures sandwiched between Alhambra Palace and City Winery. Developers Golub & Company and Azur Holdings are working with local firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB) on the design of the tower which replaces previous plans which called for a new outpost of the Standard Hotel.

Exterior Walls Take Shape for Sportsbook Addition at Wrigley Field

Curtain wall facets can be seen taking shape along the exterior of 1012 W Addison Street, a new three-story sportsbook betting addition to Wrigley Field in Lake View. The project is being spearheaded by the Chicago Cubs and Marquee Development, whose new wing of the iconic stadium comes as a result of a recent reversal of the city’s sports betting ban. This new ordinance has led to five total professional sports stadiums throughout the city now integrating their own betting operations.

City Council Approves Medical Facility At 4800 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Grand Boulevard

The Chicago City Council has approved a new mixed-use medical facility at 4800 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Grand Boulevard. Located on the corner with E 48th Street, the new structure replaces a vacant lot and brings a much needed service to an area which has suffered from years of disinvestment in public health. The project is being developed by Northwestern Medicine with local firms Lamar Johnson Collaborative and Brook Architecture working on its design.
