Developer St. James Interest, LLC is behind the project with local firm Hirsch MPG working on its current design.

Located on the intersection with N Elizabeth Street and replacing a couple of commercial structures, the development can now proceed after originally being proposed as a hotel multiple years ago. Developers Azur Holdings and Golub & Company are behind the project with architecture firm SCB working on its design.
A preliminary construction permit has been issued for a major new residential project located at 1723 S Michigan Avenue in South Loop. The development will comprise a new 13-story building with a total of 149 residential apartment units and 98 parking spaces. The project’s ownership lies with the 1725 S Michigan Development Corporation.

The approved three-unit masonry structure will be accompanied by a rear steel porch and a parking area, according to the permit description.
