Construction on Wendelin Park (formerly known as The Shops at Big Deahl) Phase 2 in Near North Side is nearing its final stages, as Structured Development’s four-building, $250 million project wraps up exterior facade and landscape work. The first phase of the GREC Architects-designed masterplan, a three-story climbing gym called Movement Lincoln Park, is located at the easternmost end of the property. Meanwhile, this nearly-complete second phase is comprised of a small park and three buildings standing 27, 10, and five stories tall.

Updated Details Revealed For Twisted Hippo Replacement In Albany Park

Updated details have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 4343-4357 N Richmond Street in Irving Park. Located on the southeast corner with W Montrose Avenue a few blocks west from Horner Park, the multiple-building proposal replaces the previous Twisted Hippo structure which burned down in February 2022. Now developer Alan Candea is working with local firm Compass Architecture on their design after receiving community feedback on an earlier iteration.

Progress continues at a steady pace at the 150 E Ontario Street hotel project in Streeterville, as construction is currently wrapping up on the third level. The 28-story, 345-foot-tall structure is set to become the latest addition to the RIU Hotels and Resorts chain, hosting 388 guest rooms and a cafe at the southeast corner of the ground floor. The Prime Group is spearheading the project as developer.
