Rising into the 26th place on our year-end countdown is the mixed-use development at 210 N Aberdeen Street in the West Loop. Located not too far from yesterday’s entry of Embry, the multi-mass project is near the intersection with W Fulton Street. The team at LG Development Group worked with local architecture firm NORR on its design with Power Construction executing on the plans.
Plans have been unveiled for a new 15-story mixed-use tower at 640 W Randolph Street in West Loop Gate. Vista Property Group intends to replace a surface parking lot with the new 225-foot-tall structure at the intersection of Randolph and Desplaines. There will be a total of 117,000 square feet of office space atop 2,500 square feet of ground-level commercial space.
This past week, a demolition permit was issued to remove a two-story masonry multi-unit residence along with a detached masonry garage located at 1913 West Addison Street in the North Center neighborhood. The permit’s owners have been listed as Kingsley Holdings LLC. The property has an RT-3.5 designation.
Having now surpassed the 12th floor, the condo development dubbed “Embry” has claimed the 27th spot in our year-end construction countdown. This 15-story, 207-foot-tall residential project at 21 N May Street has been planned by Sulo Development and will contain 58 total residences. Floor plans range from two- to four-bedroom units, with floor space occupying between 1,828 and 5,187 square feet.
Updated plans have been revealed for the community facility at 5112 W Harrison Street in Austin. Occupying a whole city block bound by S Leamington Avenue to the east and S Laramie Avenue to the west, the project is a massive expansion to BUILD Chicago’s existing center which focuses on gang intervention with local youth. The proposal recently broke ground and finally received approval for an additional floor to the addition which is being led by BUILD themselves with Landon Bone Baker Architects working on the design.
