Residential Development Proposed for 1225 S Indiana Avenue in South Loop

A new residential development is in the proposal phase for 1225 S Indiana Avenue in South Loop. The privately-funded project, dubbed Parkway Residences, will replace a vacant grass lot with a five-story building containing 100 for-rent dwelling units. In collaboration with unknown developer, 2RZ Architecture has envisioned the low-rise structure to include landscaped terraces, a club room, a fitness room, a sprawling rooftop terrace, and an accompanying public park. The heavily landscaped grounds have been conceived by the landscape architecture firm Blue Stem Design.

Plan Commission Approves Industrial Building In Fuller Park

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the industrial development at 328 W 40th Place in Fuller Park. Located just north of W Root Street and a few blocks south of Guaranteed Rate Field, the new structure will replace a handful of old industrial structures many of which have fallen into disrepair and partially collapsed. Now developers The Missner Group LLC are working with local firm Ware Malcomb on its design.

Groundbreaking Announced For Bronzeville Lakefront Megadevelopment

An anticipated groundbreaking date has been announced for the first phase of the Bronzeville Lakefront megadevelopment in Bronzeville. Located on the massive former Michael Reese Hospital site, the multi-phase project is the first in the nation to have a 50 percent Black development team. That team is operating under the name GRIT Chicago LLC and comprises Farpoint Development, Loop Capital, Draper & Kramer, Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, McLaurin Development and the Bronzeville Community Development Partnership.
