A construction permit has been issued for a renovation project at 3506 W North Avenue in Humboldt Park. The existing three-story residential building with a basement is slated to be transformed into commercial office spaces. The listed owner of the project is Edith Delacruz.
Ceiling mural artwork designed by Emmy Star Brown (@emmystarbrown) has been spotted along the underside of The Dylan, a 30-story mixed-use tower at 160 N Morgan Street in Fulton Market. The project, a collaboration between Sterling Bay and Ascentris, topped out at its 350-foot height earlier this year. The plan is for 282 rental apartments above a 2,657 square-foot retail space.
The Chicago City Council has approved the full landmark designation for The Warehouse at 204-208 S Jefferson Street in West Loop Gate. Located near the intersection with W Adams Street, the small building recently received its final landmark recommendation from the Commission on Chicago Landmarks earlier this month after a multi-week battle supported by locals. With its full landmark status granted, the structure is now protected from demolition and will eventually receive a plaque outside.
A construction permit has been issued for a new residential development at 6319 S Champlain Avenue in Woodlawn. The project will feature a two-story building with two dwelling units, replacing a vacant plot. The owner of the project is Champlain Rhodes, LLC.
The Chicago City Council has approved two mixed-use developments at 1235 N Ashland Avenue and 1301 N Ashland Avenue in Wicker Park. Located on two separate lots just north of the intersection with N Milwaukee Avenue and across the street from Wicker Park Commons, both of the proposals will replace five-existing buildings in total dating back to the late 1800s. Grand Properties Acquisitions, LLC is behind both with local firm Hanna Architects working on their design.
