Facade pieces are being installed for a new Aldi grocery store at 3930 N Kilpatrick Avenue in Portage Park. Occupying a previously vacant lot, the single-story retail venue will provide 21,000 square feet of space and 67 surface parking spaces.
Permits have been issued for a new residential project at 1828 South Racine Avenue in Pilsen. This project, which was approved on January 18, has a budget of $565,940.
At 2933 W Division Street in Humboldt Park, the construction of a new health and wellness center continues to advance, with the building’s shell now in place. Valued at $24 million, the center covers an area of 45,500 square feet and reaches a height of 62 feet. This three-story building is a collaborative effort between Humboldt Park Health and the architectural firm JGMA. The curved design will be clad in an iridescent facade, composed of blue and green metal paneling and glass curtain wall cut-outs.
A renovation has been announced for the Prudential Plaza complex at 130 E Randolph Street in New East Side. Located on the corner with N Stetson Avenue and across the street from Millenium Park, the complex is currently owned by Wanxiang America Real Estate Group. The US-based real-estate developer is part of Wanxiang Group, a Chinese automotive manufacturer.
The City of Chicago has issued permits for a new four-story mixed-use building at 2923 North Southport Avenue in Lake View. Permits were issued on January 17, and the project’s budget is approximately $950,000.
