Exterior work is nearing the finish line for a six-story mixed-use development located at 61 W Erie Street in River North. The property was previously occupied by a two-story masonry commercial building, which would later be demolished in 2016.
Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential development at 6515 S Greenwood Avenue in Woodlawn. Jack Properties LLC is the filing owner, with plans for three total units, as well as an open steel porch in the rear and a three-car concrete parking pad. The new structure will replace a currently vacant grass lot.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the proposed RIU Plaza Hotel Chicago at 150 E Ontario Street in Streeterville. Vacant for more than ten years, the project site is an infill site off of N Michigan Avenue. The midblock location is bound by two adjacent buildings spanning the block between N Michigan Avenue and N St. Clair Street. The Prime Group is the developer behind the proposal.
Demolition has begun for the final silo portion of the ADM Wheat Mill at 1300 W Carroll Avenue in West Loop‘s Fulton Market District.
Full construction permits have now been issued for 2143 N Racine Avenue, a planned three-story residential building in Lincoln Park. As previously reported by YIMBY, demolition permits were issued for an existing masonry multi-unit residence. This new construction will provide three total units, a rooftop deck and stair enclosure, steel stairs, and a detached three-car garage.
