A demolition permit has been issued for a two-story, multi-unit building along with a detached garage in the North Center neighborhood. The permit’s owner has been filed under the name Honan Concrete & Construction. As of now, no plans appear to have been submitted to upgrade the zoning designation for the property or for future construction.
A revised construction permit has been issued for 1000 S Michigan Avenue, the site of a 73-story residential tower that is now ready to resume construction. The development known as ‘1000M‘ is being developed by Time Equities and JK Equities in South Loop. Meanwhile, the building itself was designed by the late Helmet Jahn, which upon completion will be his tallest addition to the city (not accounting for a possible tower addition to Thompson Center).
Rezoning for a new mixed-use project has been approved by the Committee on Zoning at 5416 W Belmont Avenue in Belmont Cragin. The project involves the gutting and remodeling of an existing retail building and adding a new two-story residential addition above. The site is bound by a public alley to the north, a parking lot to the east and a one-story car wash to the east. The expanded design is being completed by local architecture firm IR Design Firm.
A permit was approved last week for a new three-story residential building to be located at 2724 N Wayne Avenue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The owner is listed as Kazimierz Bachula and plans indicate this project will yield three total units, each with a balcony, and also a basement level and a rooftop deck with an access stair. Additionally, a detached three-car garage with a second rooftop deck will be on site. The yard will have a rear wood fence. The development will replace a previous structure on the site.
Developer Shapack Partners has revealed initial plans for a new mixed-use development at 1353 W Fulton Street in the West Loop. The high-rise joins a variety of new residential buildings proposed and built north of Lake Street and will sit on the southwest corner of W Fulton Street and N Ada Street replacing a one-story existing building and its attached parking lot. Directly east of the new West End Fulton office building, the tower will allow current tenants to continue operations on the site until mid-next year, this includes the leasing office for the nearby 1400 W Randolph residential tower.
