Details have been revealed for the upcoming redevelopment of the over mile-long space underneath the new tracks of the Red and Purple Line across the north side. The plans come just over a year since the CTA held its first neighborhood meeting requesting input from neighbors on what they’d like to see.
A residential development at 4907 North Paulina Street in Uptown that got its construction permit in August of last year is now underway. The four-story, 32-unit building comes from developer Hayes Properties, with Moments Notices Services on general contractor duty.
A new permit was issued by the city on February 26 to build a new multi-unit residence at 1355 West 16th Street in Pilsen. The home it replaces was empty and being renovated when it was destroyed by fire on April 17 of last year. The same fire also damaged the residences on either side; both have since been issued permission to remedy the damage.
Details have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 2424 S California Avenue within Little Village. Located on the southwest corner with W 24th Boulevard, the new structure would replace the school building of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, which will also be incorporated into the overall project.
Construction has begun at 1317 North Western Avenue, signifying Phase 2 of a two-part residential development coming to Wicker Park. General contractor R&M General Contractors, who are also part of the development team, received a permit to begin work on September 26 of last year after filing for permits on June 15, 2023.
