The Community Development Commission has approved Tax Increment Financing (TIF) money for the redevelopment of the Armour Institute Building in Bronzeville. Located at 3300 S Federal Street, the structure is located on the edge of the Illinois Institute of Technology campus next to the Metra tracks along W 33rd Street. MCM Company and Washington Park Development Group are the developers behind the project.

Construction permits were recently issued for a four-story residential development at 4733 N Wolcott Avenue in Ravenswood. FEPH-Highland Park LLC is the listed owner, who plans 112 total units and 67 parking spaces. The structure is set to replace a former parking lot and two-story brick commercial building, and is the third installment of a three-part development that is bound by Wolcott, Lawrence, and Ravenswood Avenues. While the first sub-area is a now-complete single-story bank, the second planned development received permits earlier this month under the same developer, architect, and general contractor.

Developers announced that plans have been scrapped for 700 at the River District, a multi-building development at 700 W Chicago Avenue. Located on the site of the former Chicago Tribune distribution building, the seven-acre parcel is bound by N Halsted Street, W Chicago Avenue, and the Chicago River. Nexstar Media Group and Riverside Investment & Development were the developers behind the vision.

Construction permits have been issued for a five-story mixed-use building planned for 3637 N Central Avenue in Portage Park. Filed under the owner Innovative Markets Inc, the project will include ground-floor retail and storage space on the four floors above. The new development will replace a currently vacant grass plot, and will ultimately stand just over 57 feet in height. According to planning documents, the developer was granted approval last summer to extend the storage space into a portion of the originally designated retail space.
