A permit was issued yesterday for a new three-story residential building at 6343 S Drexel Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The owner is listed as JPK Investments LLC, and plans indicate this project will yield six total dwelling units with front balconies, replacing a previously vacant lot. The rear of the building will be outfitted with a three-story metal staircase. The exterior will include a wooden trash enclosure and an accompanying five-foot-tall fence. The plans also indicate the presence of six parking spaces on site.
Stern Group Architects LLC is listed as the architect of record. At the time of this writing, no drawings or renderings have been disclosed, however, plans indicate the presence of a masonry exterior.
The CTA Green Line can be accessed at the Cottage Grove station via a five-minute walk northwest. The Route 63 bus can be found at 63rd Street & Ingleside via a two-minute walk north. There are many retail and dining options on the 63rd Street corridor.
Tomcon Corporation will act as the general contractor for the $490,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
