Plans have been revealed for a massive new horror-themed attraction coming to 700 West Chicago Avenue on the edge of River West. Located across the street from the upcoming Bally’s Casino, the proposal will redevelop the vacant Tribune plant along the riverfront. The project comes from Universal Destinations & Experiences, which operates theme parks around the world.
More than six months after the city issued its tower crane permit, 410 North Elizabeth now has a permission to begin drilling caissons. The first of two residential tower planned by Weldon Development Group for the Fulton Market site, this one will rise 33 stories and contain 384 dwelling units. The permit was issued on June 26.
Updated details and partial financing have been announced for the mixed-use affordable development at 7603 North Paulina Street in Rogers Park. Located at the corner of West Howard Street and just steps from the Howard CTA station, the proposal has been in the works for over three years, going through various iterations.
On June 23, the City of Chicago issued a permit allowing the Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) to convert the sanctuary of the Humboldt Park United Methodist Church in Logan Square into residential units. The permit was submitted for approval back in December 2022, and it came through showing a reported construction cost just under $8.7 million.
Additional renderings have been revealed for the upcoming hotel project at 424 South Wabash Avenue in The Loop. Earlier this year, we covered the initial demolition work for the project. We now have a closer look at what the new structure will look like. The project is being led by DAC Development and Initium Development, based at 2600 N Clark Street.
