It has been revealed that the Discovery Partners Institute (DPI) within The 78 has been canceled. The project located at 1519 S Wells Street has been in the works for years and saw several reductions in scale since it was first announced. The cancellation was first reported by Crain’s, dealing a blow to the massive development led by Related Midwest that has been trying to lock down additional anchors.

Plan Commission Approves 1200 W Fulton Street In Fulton Market District

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the updated plans for the mixed-use development at 1200 W Fulton Street within the Fulton Market District. Earlier this year YIMBY reported on the proposal’s new design and program, which was a large departure from the originally revealed multi-building complex. Now developers JDL Development and Fulton Street Companies are one step closer to building the residential heavy project.

Kensington School Bucktown has topped out in Wicker Park

Yesterday, we looked at the beginnings of construction for the Kensington School West Loop. Today, we see construction has topped out for the Kensington School Bucktown early childhood education center in Wicker Park. Located at 1745 North Damen Avenue, the three-story, 25,000-square-foot building is a design by Charles Vincent George Architects. Along with daycare facilities, the Kensington School Bucktown will also include art and music rooms, and a rooftop play area. The Lauder Group is on the build.
