A Look at the Museum of Gospel Site in Bronzeville

In the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago, the historic site of the Pilgrim Baptist Church, located at 3301 S Indiana Avenue, is undergoing a transformation into the National Museum of Gospel Music. The design of the project blends the past and present, incorporating the original limestone walls of the church. The developer for the project is Don Jackson, CEO of Central City Productions and founder of the Stellar Gospel Music Awards, in collaboration with architect Dirk Lohan of Wight & Company.

City Council Approves New Venue In West Town

The Chicago City Council has approved the commercial development at 1675 N Elston Avenue in West Town. Located near the intersection with W Wabansia Avenue and near both Lincoln Yards and the Salt Shed, the project will reuse an existing storage building and adjacent vacant lot. Called ‘The Outset’, the music venue is being developed by a team under the name 1675 Holdings LLC with an undisclosed architect.
