A new construction permit has been issued for a four-story, three-unit residential building with a basement at 2307 West Foster Avenue in Lincoln Square. The property, when complete, will feature front decks on each floor, a rear stair, a rooftop deck, and a rooftop stair enclosure. In addition, it will feature a detached two-vehicle garage with a rooftop deck.
Foundation work has begun for a new residential development at 4454 North Western Avenue in the Lincoln Square neighborhood. Located on the southwest corner of Western and Sunnyside Avenues, it replaces a single-story building that was demolished this spring. The permit allowing construction to begin, issued by the City of Chicago on November 29, uses 2405 West Sunnyside Avenue as the building’s address.
Construction progress continues on the residential development known as The Trieuth at Lincoln Square. Developer and general contractor Northshore Development Group has completed much of the exterior work, including the west-facing balconies, which no longer show any signs of the graffiti artists who visited the site while it was in post-groundbreaking financial limbo.
With only the concrete foundations left to be dug out, demolition work is nearly complete for the new residential development at 4529 North Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. Two modest residential buildings with ground-floor commercial space, at 4531 and 4529 North Western, were torn down this fall to create space for the new project. Builder Luxury was listed in the permits, both issued September 12, as the demolition contractor.
Updated renderings have been revealed for the conversion of the Diplomat Motel at 5230 N Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Square as construction kicks off. Sitting on the corner with W Farragut Avenue, the iconic motel is one of many along the area’s motel row and is now set to become transitional housing. Efforts for the transformation are being led between the city and the Department of Public Health.
