Northwestern Reveals New Stadium Plans At 1505 Central Street In Evanston

Plans have been revealed for a new football stadium at 1505 Central Street in Evanston. Located on the intersection with Ashland Avenue, the new structure for Northwestern University will replace the existing venue within their sports complex which also features an indoor arena as well as a baseball diamond. The university is leading the development efforts with Kansas City-based architects HNTB serving as the designers, who have worked on similar facilities for Ohio State and University of Michigan.

Yesterday, YIMBY attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the newly dubbed “Cassidy on Canal,” a 33-story residential tower at 344 N Canal Street in Fulton River District. The Habitat Company and Diversified Real Estate Capital are behind the project, which will replace the former Cassidy Tire Building that was demolished this year. The development will yield a total of 343 units along with ground-level retail and 123 parking spaces.

Cladding Rounds Out for 160 N Elizabeth Street in Fulton Market District

Facade work is nearing full completion for the 27-story 160 N Elizabeth Street, a mixed-use high rise towards the west end of Fulton Market District. Now dubbed “Fulbrix,” Moceri + Roszak‘s 293-foot-tall building will have 9,000 square feet of retail space and 375 rental units. Of those units, 20 percent will be priced affordably under the ARO planning regulations. These residences will include a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedrooms. A large portion will also come with private balconies.
