Permit Issued for 5209 S Michigan Avenue in Washington Park

A construction permit has been issued for a new residential development at 5209 S Michigan Avenue in the Washington Park neighborhood. The project, owned by Igor Goncharko, will consist of a three-story building providing six dwelling units.

Alan Leskiv has designed the new structure as the listed architect of record. The building will feature a basement and rear three-story open porch. The project plans also indicate the erection of a combination of six-foot-high wood fence and five-foot-high metal fence.

As for parking, the project includes provisions for four parking spaces. Transit options in the area are plentiful, with bus service for Routes 3, 15, 29, and 55 all within walking distance. The nearest CTA L Green Line is at 51st station, within a short walk to the northeast.

The general contractor for the project is 4706 N Malden LLC. The reported construction cost for this development is $550,000. As of now, there has not been an estimated completion date announced for the project.
